Project: Back to School

1 out of 10 students in the Sioux City Community Schools lack the resources to purchase school supplies, clothing, shoes and more.

On average, student and parent applicants include:
· 500 are homeless.
· 70% are on the free and reduced lunch program.
· Migrants arriving daily from 59 countries.

Teachers purchase out-of-their-own pockets: books, curriculum aids, and more not on the school lists or provided by the District.

Help the District’s students and teachers start the school year off right!

Dulce Sanchez, Equity Administrative Assistant, said, “The elementary students’ joy is infectious and the high schooler’s gratitude is humbling when they receive their backpack and school supplies.”
